A Practical Approach for Electrical Power Distribution System Planning
The traditional approach to designing electrical infrastructure for residential and public buildings often leads to overbuilt systems and significant inefficiencies as demonstrated by several case studies. This results in unnecessary investments and complaints, such as those reported in Egypt, where authorities face objections over the construction of substations that are not currently needed. Updating planning strategies to align with actual consumption data can help avoid unjustified infrastructure expansion. This research proposes a data-driven method for determining substation sizing and placement, aimed at creating more cost-effective and energy-efficient infrastructure.
